A 22-acre urban forest which is a green lung of Bengaluru is about to become a convention centre.
The Mysore Lamps factory in Malleshwaram, Bengaluru, shut down in 2003. In the 23 years since, nature quietly reclaimed the land. Thousands of mature trees, thriving biodiversity, one of North Bengaluru's last big ecological refuges, and a natural cooling zone for an overheating city. Bengalurians don't want another convention center, we want to breath, walk and live well.
Our Request
We're asking the Karnataka Government to:
Notify it as Public Urban Forest and protect it as permanent public green infrastructure.
