We demand a National Climate Ticket Policy supported by a dedicated national budget to create reliable, affordable, and inclusive public transport.  It’s time to demand a systemic shift, and here is why it’s vital to act now:

• A Smart Investment in Our Future: Redirecting central government funding to public transport for the Climate Ticket means healthier citizens and higher workforce participation. This initiative aligns with India's tradition of supporting welfare schemes, providing essential budgetary and infrastructural support to state governments for effective implementation. 
• Sustainable Cities: Fewer private vehicles and a shift towards utilising public transport, means reduced air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Cleaner air leads to healthier, more livable cities.
• Accessible Mobility for All: The right to mobility should not be a luxury. Affordable and convenient travel options for everyone, with free rides for those who need it most. 
• Global Inspiration: The climate ticket already operational in several countries has shown how subsidising public transport can encourage more people to use it while also helping in the reduction of CO2 emissions, congestion, air pollution and car usage.
