Time to stand up ! Save Dwarka Forest

To:
The Department Of Forest And Wildlife,
Government Of NCT of Delhi,
On 13th of April 2025, citizens of Delhi bore witness to the devastating impact of extreme heat on animals and birds trapped in the forest.
Natural water sources have been cut off, destroyed, or dried up, leaving animals without access to water during a severe heatwave.
Nearly 50 antelopes, peacocks, and other wildlife are trapped within 30 acres of fenced forest land.
The area is also witnessing illegal tree felling and unchecked dumping of construction waste, further damaging one of Delhi’s few remaining green zones.
We are deeply concerned about the crisis unfolding in Dwarka Forest .
We urgently demand the following actions:
- Ensure immediate and regular water supply for the trapped wildlife.
- Modify or remove the fencing to allow free movement of wildlife.
- Investigate and take strict action against illegal tree felling and construction and demolition waste dumping.
- Deploy regular forest patrols to prevent further encroachment and destruction.
Thanks to relentless efforts from people like you, the Forest Department has taken action — water holes have been installed, and fences have been removed. This progress wouldn’t have been possible without your support.
But our work isn’t over yet. We must keep pushing to secure long-term protection for this forest.
It's time to take a stand!
Will you pledge to protect our urban forests?
